The book, Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!!, The Complete Guide to Quiltmaking, has been referred to as the "Bible" of quilting by many quilters, including myself. And most of us, own it.  It is the perfect gift for the beginner quilter as well as the quilter with years of experience.   Originally, it was intended to be used as a beginning "how-to" book to be used just in the quilt shop the authors worked at.  Now, it sits on the sewing tables of many 'o quilter!

It's authors Diana McClun and Laura Nownes, are a team that again and again have proven themselves to be successful in the quilting industry.  And after 25 years at it, they still have fresh and exciting ideas and designs.  And they have some wonderful new patterns  to offer us quilters--among their new designs are "Ladybugs on Parade", "Two Hearts as One"  and the "Tree of Life".  These are some of the  latest from their  "From Me to You" design company.  The designing duo can be reached at www.dianaandlaura.com.

They presented their new designs at both the Pacific International Quilt Festival and the International Quilt Market a few weeks ago.   I got a chance to preview and "ooh" and "aah" over the new designs they presented.

One of my favorites is "Noah's Ark", an easy nine-patch block with wide borders and simple piecing and applique.  It is wonderful.  And great for even a beginner with some experience.    Another pattern is the traditional "Bow Tie", quilt.  They put a twist on this simple design  by placing emphasis on the placement of the light and dark fabrics. 

Also check out "Holiday Treats" and "Party Time", which are table runners.  Both are quick and fun must haves...

Diana and Laura are a very knowledgeable and extremely friendly pair.  They have worked together in  a qult shop,  on television programs, and have taught  various seminars... they even train other quilting professionals at the C & T Publishing Teachers Retreat.

These ladies know their stuff.  And their "stuff" is wonderful.
