I just returned from a shopping spree in Houston at the International Quilt Market--a showcase of quilting fabrics, patterns, notions and designers. This is the place quilt shop owners get a chance to preview and buy new fabric lines, patterns, and check out the newest and latest gadgets and gizmos, for their shops.
I rubbed shoulders with internationally known textile artists and fabric designers like Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler, Robyn Pandolph and Jane Sassaman. I got a chance to "fondle" their new fabric lines (which will be coming to a quilt shop near you in early 2006) and I interviewed them as well.
On Thursday, the general public is able to play in Houston as "Quilt Market" turns into "Quilt Festival" where the public can sign up for classes, meet designers and shop till they drop! Festival ends on Sunday.
Stay tuned for my next post highlighting some of the best of the best from Market.

I was there, too. Can't wait to read more about some of my favorite textile artists!

I'm a big Kaffe Fassett fan so I'd love to hear more about your meeting with him. I've just read his books and seen him on Simply Quilts. :-)
By the way, thanks for stopping by my J-fabric blog. I've added this site to my blog reader!
