It took only seconds, literally, to decide to buy the new line of fabric coming early next year, from textile artist, Robyn Pandolph. When my boss and I first viewed the collection at the International Quilt Market a couple of weeks ago, we knew we needed the entire soft pastel collection, called "Tickled Pink"..
“Have to have, yummy and romantic” is how I would describe her line.
The salesman couldn’t believe that we did not need to see each of the 44 different designs and colorways of the line. He was taken-a-back a bit, when we just said:
“We’ll take the whole line and when is the delivery date?”
The whole transaction took less than 3 minutes! And as we left with our order sheet in hand, we left the booth confident in buying a fabric that “speaks for itself" and could probably sell itself. Hopefully, once it hits the floor of the the shop, the yards will be flying off the bolt!
Not only did we love it, our staff loved it (and fought over it) when they saw it at market. They each wanted to make the sample for the shop! (Manon and Stephanie did a bit of stalking of Robyn at the show...but she did not seem to mind and let us take a few photos. Stephanie, the blond standing, won the bid to make the sample!) The sample will be fabulous. Robyn’s stuff is wonderful. See the yummy fabrics in the background.
Robyn, a resident of Texas, was a stay-at-home mom, turned quilter, turned teacher, turned designer! Soon her designs took off and she launched her own company and created about 40 quilts over the next 9 years. Her fabrics are now manufactured by South Seas Imports…Look for her fabrics to hit the quilt shop floor in early 2006. Not soon enough for us…but we have something to look forward to.

This new line called "Tickled Pink" also includes Robyn's first homespuns too. Lots of soft and yummy silky plaids and stripes! This line is due to hit Cozy Cottage in January.

When you come to love one Robyn Pandolph line, it's hard to not love the ones that follow. "Tickled Pink" is another line that makes my inner side calm and full of sweetness. (I'm sure my husband would want me to have yard cuts of the whole line if it does that to me.) The quilts I have made with previous lines have never disappointed me. It was a pleasure to meet Robyn Pancolph and have my picture taken with her. She is as calm and sweet as her fabric line.
