Her email says: “Exciting News! All Amy Butler Sewing Patterns will now be printed on 100% Post-Consumer Waste, Non-Chlorine Bleached Papers! Both insides and covers will be done on the new stocks. It's all a part of our continuing effort to improve the lives of our friends, families, and communities. Thanks in large part to the extensive research of Jake Redinger here at the studio, we've finally found great resources for these papers with American & Canadian mills, and, thanks to you, we can finally afford to do it. Yes, it will cost us a bit more money per pattern but we will not raise the prices to you. We feel it's the least we can do. This year we will continue to work hard for you, and for the planet that supports us all.”
Signed, Your friend, Amy.
Thanks Amy for doing your part. We can’t wait to see your new line of fabric and patterns printed on “new-recycled” papers. (Graphics credit: AmyButlerDesign.com)

If you hear from her again it would be interesting to note who is making this 100% recyled paper from post-consumer waste. It is actually hard to find, most 100% recycled papers are made from a majority of post-manufacturing waste, with a little consumer waste thrown in. So good for amy buttler. Historically, recycling materials and being mindfull of ones consumption/waste has always been a part of the quilt making narrative. What does one do with all these left over scraps of fabric... quilt.
