Eliminate the fabric stash! That was one of my New Years Resolutions. And I am working on it. And so is a bunch of bloggers who formed the “Stash Quilts Blog Ring”.
The purpose of the Stash Quilts Ring is: “To encourage each member to use the stash; to share our stash with fellow bloggers who might be looking for a particular fabric.”
Judy Laquidara is the ring’s host. And so far about 21 bloggers have joined the ring. (I just joined myself.) The rules for being member include posting on a blog at least 3 times month, share your pictures and ideas, and basically to be nice.
Ring member Jeanne at Spiral “makes scrappy utility quilts that are intended to be used and enjoyed during all the ordinary days of life.” Her quilts may be used in the “ordinary” days of life…but they are anything but ordinary. Check them out on her blog. Shown here are some of Jeanne's scrappy houses.
Some of the ring members give advice on organizing your sewing area and your fabric stash.
Evelyn from Austria shares beautiful photos of her “scrappy quilts” and is excited about the possibilities contained in a 30-pound box of fabric she recently received from the United States.
If you are interested in using up your stash this ring of stash-busting bloggers may be for you! Contact Judy at the ring.

I sew all of my scraps in Rainbow order to make long strips about 6 to 8 inches wide and then sash them with a strip of blue cloud material, ---usually about 2 to three units on the front---looks really cute! I also use the scraps from the quilt I am making and put it on the backing----I keep bags of pre cut strips or squares for the bear paw or the spinners------the rest work really well out in my back yard---the birds use them for nesting!!!
