Threaded Pear Studio Update: In our first week of business…just in case you are interested in what is happening at our studio…We have quilted five quilts on our long arm (it’s a Statler Stitcher by Gammill) quilting machine, we named “Jerry”. We only “screwed up” on three of the quilts—but, all were fixable with some time and our advanced skills using a seam ripper. With each quilt we gain confidence and learn a bit more about how to handle “Jerry”.

How fun it is!

We earned our first $1 on Monday and hung it on the wall. We also received our electric bill, phone bill and 87 offers to handle our credit card merchant services.

But the best news is that yesterday, our first “non-friend paying customer” dropped off two quilt tops for us to quilt! The quilt tops are of the “Denyse Schmidt” flavor and we are excited about picking the right quilt pattern to enhance these tops. The quilts are awesome and made by a “modern-quilter-guy” named Kevin.

A friend loaned us a mini-fridge. We stocked it with Diet Coke and water because we know it is all about and the beverage—and the fabric.
