Girlfriends is an exciting and colorful debut collection of fabrics from Jennifer Paganelli of Sis Boom™, a new artist working with FreeSpirit. Paganelli’s work takes its cue from various places she’s lived, particularly the Caribbean with all of its blended European influences. From patterns in ironwork to carved festooning of architectural elements, these elements comprise the language of her textiles. The beautiful, blended colors are fully saturated and give these vintage motifs a classic new look with a time worn element and hint of the nostalgia. Girlfriends is a salute to all the women we love and rely on to remind us of what’s important. These textiles are named for some of the people that have made life more fulfilling and inspiring for Jennifer Paganelli.

ooooohhh....I like this quilt!

Having purchased many of the fabrics used in this quilt, I am about to get started on cutting what I do have on hand. What a beautiful quilt my grand daughter picked out!

As I stumble forward, remember that I am fairly new to quilting, but I do love it and I have turned out some really nice quilts, but with this one I stopped at the first instruction on cutting all fabrics with the exception of the step 2 fabric.

"All strips are cut 2" x width of fabric. Cut the number of strips indicated for each color, then cross cut into the number of squares needed." What size squares should I end up with?

Step 2 clearly states, 4" x 4" squares, etc.

All of my fabrics are not the same width and I need to know what size to make my cross cuts.

Thank you and pardon my ignorance.
