A Modern Quilt Guy...Shows His Style
Ok, Quilter Girls…here is more on that modern quilt guy, Kevin. He allowed us to quilt his very first quilt…my partner Stephanie and I opened the “Threaded Pearkevin #1.jpg Studio” complete with a Statler Stitcher long-arm quilting machine on March 1. Lots of our friends had been saving their quilts for us to practice and experiment on…And then Kevin shows up on day four of our business being open…we were so excited to have our first “non-friend and paying customer” drop off a quilt for our services.

I dubbed him the “Modern Quilter Guy” because he likes the modern look and the Denyse Schmidt style. Anyway, his first quilt turned out great. And he dropped off another one to us. We quilted the first one in “Simple Swirls” and we are doing “Figure 8’s”on his second one …as a matter of fact it is on the quilting machine right now!

Kevin is a painter and diaper bag designer and a Mr. Mom. He has a new little daughter Mallory. She hangs out at the Threaded Pear too. Kevin has even learned the fine art of putting on a binding.kevin #2.jpg

So, I thought I would post a few photos of our new “friend and paying” customer, Kevin and his quilts. You go Kevin!

Kevin! Please start a weblog or Flickr account or something so we can see more of your work! I love it.

Aw right, Kevin! How brave of you to have someone else quilt your first quilt for you. My first was so botched up that I was ashamed to let anyone see it, much less quilt it. Way to go!
