Amy Butler is the guest writer on Quilter's Buzz today--and for the next few days.
How fun is that! Amy is introducing her line line of fabric called "Belle" in a "sneak peak" just for us!
It will be officially introduced at Quilt Market in May. But, wait, there is more...stay tuned for the next several days as we get a chance to check out all of the new projects Amy has been working on.....
But for now here is:
"BELLE" by AMY BUTLER for ROWAN
The first line of fabrics designed by Amy exclusively for ROWAN.
Inspired by Amy's favorite garden sanctuaries of lavish color and
vibrant design. Eccentric combinations of florals and graphics, a
culmination of worldly influences, and fresh, peaceful colors
surround you in their inherent spirit and beauty.
And this from Amy:
"Belle was inspired by all of the time I spent in my garden last summer. When my studio life gets hectic, I can find a sense of grounding and peace getting lost in
taking care of my favorite plants.
When you are in my garden it feels like you are in an exotic place
with huge banana trees, lush foliage and soothing tropical colors, it transports me to another world. It's hard not to be influenced by the connections and feelings that come from taking care of something that touches your artistic side
and your soulful side.
My garden and Belle are influenced by a culmination of my travels around
the world and to other beautiful garden spots.
Belle has 3 juicy palettes, Full Bloom, which touches on soft brights
perfect for spring and summer.
Earth & Sky, which is warm, smokey and grounded in sky blues.
The third palette is Sun Glow, which is a collection of warm brights perfect for any time of year.
The prints are an energetic combination of flora and fauna, elegant shapes and graphic combinations.
I hope quilters will enjoy playing with the contrast of both the print designs and the coloration. I can't wait to see everyone's creations!"
And F.Y.I--
"Belle" will launch in May at Spring Market and the fabric should be in stores by mid-June...selling for about $9/yard.

This is great! I sneaked a peek at the upholstery weight samples two weeks ago-- I'm so happy to see the two colour seedpod type fabrics make it into the quilting line.
