These sponsors ask for you of join in their cause to fight against breast cancer and they are calling on quilters of all skill levels to:
1. Find a local participating quilt shop (Check out the website www.QuiltPink.com to see all of the participants listed.)
2. Plan to visit a participating quilt shop on Quilt Pink Day, September 30, 2006
3.Bring a friend and make a pink-and-white quilt block at a participating quilt shop
Your block will be stitched to those created by other quilters and sent as a finished quilt to American Patchwork & Quilting® magazine for an online auction in Spring 2007. Net proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Many online quilt shops are also hosting their own “Quilt Pink” challenge and are making donations to the charity.
You are going to be seeing lots and lots of pink fabrics out there is the next few months to support this event.
Moda, for example, asked many of its designers to create "pink" themed pieces and they put out a "Quilt Pink" line that includes over 30 different pink pieces. Charm squares, Fat quarter packs and yardage is now available for purchase.
Quilt shops not currently participating can still sign up to host the event…get information on the quilt pink website.
Another fabric company, Northcott Monarch Fabrics is committed in the “Quest for a Cure” program to fight breast cancer. They are donating a portion of the purchase price for every yard of fabric they sell of selected collection to Breast Cancer Research. Participating collections will be identified by the “Quest for a Cure” logo. You can get more information about their program and see the collection of fabric by visiting their website.

Great idea. We lost a great friend to breast cancer. This type of support is so critical.
