One major theme running through the aisles of the International Quilt Market was “wool”…and using it to embellish your quilts, home décor and wearables…
Debbie Wiesner from “Out on a Limb ” showcased some great patterns using wool in her primitive type designs for quilts, wearables, and punchneedle.
And Debbie is a doll. She is high energy and was willing share her best ideas with us shoppers. On display were cute embellished jean shirts. Her advice for making these shirts…get an inexpensive jeans shirt from Wal-Mart…buy it from the men’s department…that way you can wear a medium in men’s instead of an extra-large in women’s…
(I like her way of thinking). Anyway, she says cut off the shirttails, hem it up and you are ready to start your creation. (Shirt shown here is Slice of Summer.)
Debbie includes other helpful hints for making her projects on her website.
This Kansas girl creates some great primitive designs for quilts, wall hangings, apparel (using both shirts and sweatshirts), tote bags, table
runners, dishtowels, aprons and punchneedle. (Shown at left is her punchneedle Snowman design.)
Give "Out on A Limb" a look.
