Now, many of you may be asking what does this have to do with quilting. Well, I personally would rather send my time sewing than matching up socks and search for lost socks.
(I am terrible when it comes to keeping up with laundry and especially matching up socks. I have a big--giant, really--basket of socks that my kids daily search through and make a big mess trying to find any socks that even come close to being the same color or size. I am a bad sock-sorter mom, I know!)
Anyway, on “Little Miss Matched” website (great name, huh) they only sell socks in odd numbers. Really! “Only odd numbers and they don’t match,” states their site.
And as an added fun feature, every sock they sell has a name and a number hidden inside the band. When you collect all 200 single socks in 4 colorways –named “Fabulous”, Marvelous”, “Kooky” and “Zany”—you’ll have 19,900 wacky combinations!” That is cool.
Sock prices are about $8 for 3 mismtached socks and $15 for 7 mismatched socks. They have socks for adults, kids and toddlers.
This San Francisco based company also sells pajamas, flip-flops, and other fun and nifty gifts…all mismatched and a bit "kooky" of course.
The company was created by four friends who always lost their socks. Now their socks are sold in 600 department stores and on their website. Look for new lines to include babies, boys and men...
