The Quilt's of Gee's Bend Are Being Exhibited at San Francisco's Fine Arts Museum Beginning Today...Ending A Three-Year Tour

You know I love the quilts of Gee’s Bend.
This is the last chance to see the exhibit...
The final venue of the exhibit’s 3-year tour begins today at San Francisco’s Fine Arts Museum and runs through November.
The Quilts of Gee’s Bend celebrates the artistic legacy of four generations of African-American women from a small, historically all-black community in rural southern Alabama.
You can read more about the tour here featuring these bold geometric quilts made from scraps of everyday fabrics.
At the San Francisco museum, there will also be a series of demonstrations by quilters from Gee’s Bend presented in conjunction with the exhibit. For a schedule and complete info visit the museum’s website or call 415-750-7634.
And don’t forget, the U.S. Postal service is issuing stamps feature these quilts. Look for them in August.
