New Quilting Fabric, "Nature's Palette" is Organically Grown, Naturally Dyed 100% Cotton ...Kristin of "Sew Mama Sew" Tells Us All About It And Offers A Special Promo

I have been seeing a lot of advertising for Avlyn’s new organic fabric called “Nature’s Palette” in magazines and in trade publications including the cover of the latest edition of the Fabric Shop Network’s magazine, “FabShop News”.
I was curious about the “organically grown and naturally dyed” cotton fabric. And Avlyn is offering a free pattern for their quilt made with the line.
But I thought it would be better to let Kristin at “Sew, Mama, Sew” tell you about the line, since she has experience with the fabric…she has touched it, unrolled it from the bolt, and cut it (maybe even smelled it—I would have!)
So here is Kristin to tell us about it:
“I'm pleased to be carrying the new line, Nature's Palette by Avlyn, on Sew, Mama, Sew!
This is a wonderful group of solid fabric that is organically grown, naturally dyed 100% cotton. According to Avlyn, "the dyes used to produce Nature's Palette are derived from plants, vegetables, minerals and some animal products. All dyes are non-toxic, non-allergenic, completely bio-degradable and environmentally friendly."

I was told at market that no formaldehyde is used in the finishing of the fabric, which is a rarity in the industry.
I've been getting great feedback about this fabric. It has a wonderfully soft hand and the 21 colors are rich and warm. After a summer full of vibrant prints, it's delightful to settle into a project with these beautiful solids--they're just right for the coming months.”
If you want to see, touch, feel and smell it for yourself, Kristin has all the colors in stock in yardage and you can get in a fat quarter packs as well.
Nature’s Palette Promo From Sew, Mama, Sew!

You can also find free instructions for making a lovely baby/lap quilt using these fabrics on our blog. Please email me if you have any questions: kristin@sewmamasew.com.
Thanks Kristin for the info and the promo offer.
P.S. I just purchased “natural organic unbleached 100% cotton” Hobbs batting for my long-arm quilting business. A perfect match for the Nature’s Palette for sure!

I am interested in learning more about the organic quilt fabrics. Are there samples I can see on line? Do any shops in the Burlington,VT area carry this line? And what is the price range of these fabrics? Thank you

I have recently been diagnosed with contact dermititis (ezcema)and i have been suffering from this for the past year. I will be undergoing patch testing to find out WHAT is causing my condition. I am a quilter....over 30 years! I am so afraid it is my fabrics. What do you find with allergenic conditions with this new fabric? Any information you can give me will be much appreciated. I won't be having my tests until the 24th of March....two more months of intense itching in store for me! Thanks for any info you can give me.
