Quilter, Alex Anderson, Shares Her Plans For the Future in Part Two of Her "Writing Gig" For QuiltersBuzz

Here is Alex Anderson, quilter, teacher, TV host, in the second part of her guest writing gig for the QuiltersBuzz.
What is in store for Alex? She tells us here about her upcoming ventures.
From Alex:
Team Teaching/Crusing
This next year, she is teaming with Ricky Tims and Libby Lehman presenting four Super Seminars in San Diego CA, Richmond VA, Omaha NE, and Knoxville TN
(Editor note: Play with these superstars of quilting for 3 days for $200 or even less—if you gather up a bunch of your friends and register as a group.)
Alex also has a working relationship with Bernina Sewing Machines and has a great long list of helpful sewing tips listed on their website…Check it out here. Take a peak at her studio too—as shown on the Bernina website. (See photo)
If you miss her at one of these events, you might consider booking a cruise and join her in Hawaii or on an East Coast fall adventure.
Book Writing
Back to quilting, Alex always has a book in the works with CT Publishing. Early next year “Machine Quilting with Alex Anderson” will hit your local quilt shop.
“This was a very interesting adventure, being known as a “die hard” hand quilter, I took the plunge and learned how to machine quilt, and I might mention with out the aid of the BSR (Bernina Stitch Regulator)” Over two hundred hours later, I am no Diane Gaudinski, but at least now I really enjoy the process and embrace the possibly”.
“Another fun project has been working with JWD Designs (Joen Wolfrom), creating patterns. Unlike a book, I can make a quilt with no relevance to others (as in quilts for a book). It has been an inspiring and creative outlet.
What is Next?
“People ask what is next, and frankly I don't know. But I do know this; life has offered me an incredible ride, one I could have never charted in my wildest dreams. To be able to touch people with the magic of quilting, people I might never meet, is an awesome honor, of which I am grateful”.
Thanks for the update and inspiration, Alex.

Gina, your site and this topic inspires me! Thanks for the post and for the site that carries art that one expects in the quilt itself. Did you know that quilting uses kinesthetic, spacial and often intrapersonal intelligence. To write about quilting and inspire others draws from linguistic intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. I have never bought a great quilt -- but I will likely do so soon -- now that I am reminded again how amazing they are. Thanks for amazing tips we find on this site.

Please, when are you going to bring back Alex's Simply Quilts. You lost a great inspirational when you didn't bring her back. Let's see information as to when she will return and NOT as re-runs.

I have been trying to find a source for the white wire basket drawer systems that Alex has in her own sewing studio. I had watched a show that toured her new studio that her father helped her build. I recently have moved into a new house that we built with a beautiful large sewing area. I have a large cutting table that I would like to store fabric under. When I seen what Alex had done with the wire basket drawers I loved it, but have not been able to find any that are just simple and not super expensive. Please help I really need to get my fabric out of boxes and where I can see it. Thank you

I know they have a system of wire baskets and shelving at Ikea...I am not sure where ALex got hers, but a friend of mine uses the Ikea system and it is awesome.
