Kimberly Jolly of Fat Quarter Shop Tells Us What Was "Hot" This Summer...And Gets Ready To Attend Quilt Market With Other Shop Owners to BUY, BUY, BUY!
I thought you would like to know about some of the top selling quilting products of the summer of 2006 from one of the best and busiest quilt shops on line, “The Fat Quarter
Shop”.
I asked owner, Kimberly Jolly, to write up a summer sales wrap up. Since Kimberly gets sales from all over the world, I thought you may be interested in what was “hot” this summer—because it may or may not be "hot" in the area that you live!

The Fat Quarter Shop has had a full summer. Quilters have discovered how much fun it is to make quilts from pre-cut 5” squares and our “Exclusive Jolly Packs” and “Moda’s Charm Packs” are our hottest items.
They sometimes sell out within two weeks. Since these items are so popular, our best selling patterns are charm pack patterns – like our Hooked on Charms Quilt Booklets! (Retailing for $14)
Most popular this summer?
Moda’s Three Sisters and fabrics from Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett (both with Westminster Fibers) have been our most popular fabrics this summer.
Our “Exclusive Charm Bags” have also been super popular. We expect the popularity of the charm bags to continue into the fall and winter, as they will make wonderful gifts for quilters and their friends.
Block of the Month, The Patchwork Party
A new program, Block of the Month, The Patchwork Party 2006, has been a blast, and there are going to be a lot of wonderful quilts made with the patterns from this BOM. Twelve different quilt shops are offering 12 different blocks, each for $6, check it out. It makes a wonderful quilt. It has been a great adventure and we are pleased to be a part of it. New Collections Daily
As you know, we receive new collections almost daily, and it would be hard to pick a favorite that is coming soon. We do have lots of surprises in store in the coming months for our customers. We hope quilters will continue to visit our website when they can.

There will be lots of yardage buying going on at Quilt Market by Kimberly and other shop owners in October. Shop owners attend Quilt Market twice a year in the spring and fall and check out hundreds of companies offering up their products, patterns, fabric lines, gadgets, gizmos and notions. Quilt Market is also a chance to meet top designers in the quilting industry.
I have seen Kimberly working the deals, as she buys hundreds and hundreds of yards of fabrics for her customers. Fat Quarter Shop also creates great kits, builds fat quarter towers, makes samples and puts together “Jolly Packs” with their lines of fabric bought. And Kimberly moves fabric fast and has a great sale section which is updated regularly.
