Quilter, designer, artist, and fellow blogger
(a featured “Woman of Blogland” by Quilter’s Home Magazine), Pat Sloan will be debuting a new line of fabric in a couple of days at Fall Quilt Market.
Pat’s latest collection epitomizes her fresh, familiar country look. The main print has stylized flowers, with vines and Pat's signature stars in the background. Two secondary prints add a variety of fun flowers and berries. The vines and stars return in a mostly tonal background print, and more stars and dots make for an additional fun tonal. Pat added a traditional stripe and a wavy dotted check to the mix.
Pat worked with the team at P & B Textiles to create her line called “Sweetbriar”.
Here is Pat to tell us more as she guest writes for QuiltersBuzz and shows us a quick sneak peak of the line.
“Here is a look at my fabric line Sweetbriar that will be show at the trade show this coming week! It is always so exciting and such a THRILL to see my designs go from paper to fiber. The process from idea to cotton takes awhile, six to nine months of planning and work. The team at P&B Textiles is AWESOME to work with and I totally enjoy every minute.
When naming this line, I looked for a more unique flowering bush to name it after. The Sweetbriar bush has a fragrant foliage, and in the spring it has pink blossoms (usually single), which are followed by rose hips sometimes used in preserves.”
Fabrics should hit the shelves of quilt shops in early March.
Thanks for the post, Pat!
I am looking forward to seeing this line in person! I will be seeing Pat at market and taking photos of the quilts she designed using her fabrics.
