I remember regularly going to the library as a kid and checking out 3 or 4 of the Beatrix Potter book collection. These tiny green
books had wonderful stories and illustrations and were a special treat for me as a 7 year old. (Crazy as this sounds, one of my childhood fascinations was with Beatrix’s name. I secretly wanted to meet someone who had an “x” in their first name!)
Cranston’s Quilting Treasures, has created Beatrix Potter fabric. I saw a “taste” of it at Quilt Market and it is now hitting the shelves of quilt stores.
“In this beautifully rendered fabric group, by Beatrix Potter, you'll meet many of Beatrix's friends - endearing Old Mrs... Rabbit, the mischievous Peter Rabbit, and his adorable cousin Benjamin Bunny and of course sweet Jemima Puddle-Duck.
Decorate a nursery, young child's bedroom or create treasured gifts with these sweet timeless images,” according to Quilting Treasure’s website. ![]()
Fat Quarter Shop is carrying the entire collection of these licensed fabrics, plus has fat quarter packs and jolly pack charm squares. Perfect for that charming "baby quilt quickie".
Quilting Treasures is also offering a free downloaded quilt (see quilt below) pattern for the collection on their site.![]()
And don't forget to see the Beatrix Potter movie "Miss Potter", a biographical film about Beatrix Potter, that is coming out soon and stars Renee Zellweger as the famed Britsh author.
The Beatrix is Back.
