Denyse Schmidt has an exhibit opening in Denver next month.
Here is more from Denyse:
"I have attached an image of one of the quilts I'm making for my exhibition in Denver, opening March 16.
I'll be there for the opening, in case any of your readers are local.
I wanted to make all-new work for an art/design gallery exhibition I am doing at P Design Gallery in Denver CO. It's been tough fitting studio time into my schedule, but a good dose of discipline and letting a lot of other stuff go created a little space and time to focus.
I have one day a week without anyone else in the studio, so I lay out each quilt in a day (up on my studio wall), and then I sew for a couple of hours each afternoon until I get each top sewn together.
I am using vintage woolens I picked up from a great old store in Bridgeport, CT that closed last year. I also incorporated some funky vintage cotton odds and ends that I have been hoarding for years. It felt good to "say goodbye" to things I thought I would save forever, or which were waiting for the "perfect" project.
Who am I kidding, nothing is ever perfect! The horse fabric is a curtain I found at a yard sale, I always thought I would make a skirt out of it. Each quilt is totally different, but they all use various shades of white as a background. I can't wait to see them all hanging together."

WOW! What a funky design and I love the effect of the narrow sashing framing each fabric. Thanks for finding all these wonderful ideas/inspirations for us Gina.
