Here is a bit more of a “tasty treat” from the studio of Anna Maria Horner, as she guest writes today about her “Chocolate Lollipop” line of fabric coming out this spring and she shares her circle applique tutorial.
"What a treat it is for me to serve up a little sneak peek of my new line of fabrics and applique tutorial. I am so excited about the debut of my second line (Bohemian was her first line for Free Spirit.) for Free Spirit and I hope you LOVE it!
The line will be showing first at Quilt Market this May, though there could be a few early buys at select retailers before.
The palettes and prints grew out of memories I have of the wallpaper and bedding I had as a kid....pure candy colors that are not just a little exciting.
I also thought of that heart-racing experience of walking into a glowing candy store when you were little and not knowing which way to go first.
The richer more sophisticated tones came about through thinking of fancy papers that would line the most decadent box of sweets from a European chocolatier. A grown up kind of yummy.
So I'll be busy sewing up my new Lollipop quilt (See the computer generated graphic of the Lollipop quilt at right.) exclusively for the free download at Free Spirit's site. The studio is also whirling with fine-tuning plans and prototypes for my first sewing pattern line, release date forthcoming!
There are also several new giftware, stationery; tabletop and home textile items that I've designed that will be rolling out to stores this spring. So in addition to keeping the kids from building forts with my new yardage of Chocolate Lollipop I am a busy woman.![]()
I share updates and thoughts a few times a week on my blog, so come and visit me there too. ![]()
Anna Maria will be posting regularly on her blog about her “Chocolate” creations made from her line of fabric.
She has also posted a great tutorial called "Super Circles", with wonderful photos and graphics on hemming/appliquéing that perfect circle…(Some of her tutorial photos are posted here at the right.)
Stay tuned for what this talented mother of five has in store for us!

I don't usually comment on things I find on the web, but this idea of making the perfect circles is BRILLIANT! You have saved my life and my crazy quilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
