I recently hooked up with Alex Anderson at the Road to California quilt show and she was excited about a new on-line quilting show and program that she is involved with. So I invited her to tell us personally about “The Quilt Show”.
Here is Alex:
“Regarding the Quilt Show www.thequiltshow.com with Ricky Tims (ARJJ), it has been an incredible journey to date and we have only just begun!
What began as an idea of an internet TV show has taken on legs of it's own including a website that is shaping up as the "my space" for quilters!
The industry has embraced the concept with open arms, lending all the support any one could hope for, in fact beyond our wildest dreams.
“Here is some inside scoop about the production team. Our first producer actually worked at HGTV as my boss! She left the network about a year before I did. Angel moved on to Turner broadcasting and currently is taking a new job at Cornell University. Angel coerced her friend Bev Price who has been in TV industry for decades to be co producer .
Bev was especially interested in the concept of internet TV and wanted the opportunity to work in broadband media (new stuff!). Beverly in turn talked Ryan into joining the team as key editor. Ryan just got back from working on the Super Bowl. From Boulder we welcome Day Light Productions and their crew who will wave the magic wand to bring our show to you.
In the end, it comes down to you! Without YOUR support and partnership, it would be in vain, right? The beauty of this internet TV venture is that we are not under the thumb of a network’s idea of who we are and what we want. We, the quilters control it!
All in all, this couldn’t have happened at a better time. We at ARJJ are thrilled with how The Quilt Show is shaping up and are honored to serve our community. So, help us spread the word and let the New Day Begin!” (Click on purple screen to watch a trailer of the show)
Check out “The Quilt Show” website and learn more about this adventure to bring the quilt community together. It sure looks interesting. Shows will begin airing on April 2. The show will be filmed at an incredible studio in Colorado. My photo friend, Gregory Case has been asked take photos of the show during filming and he will be guest writing about the show on QuiltersBuzz.com as well. I understand there is still some space available in the studio audience too…Contact the show and save a seat!
