A warm welcome from the blog world goes out to Holly Holderman of Lakehouse Dry Goods who launched her “hollyblog” this week. I first met Holly a little over a year ago when I was interested in interviewing her about her design company, LakeHouse Dry Goods. A few e-mails, Quilt Markets and phone calls later…we finally hooked up for a bit of a design project, a fantastic dinner and idea session, and a guest writing gig at the Quilters Buzz.
I have yet to actually conduct the interview, but I did get her to tour Temple Square with me while in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago…I watched her in action taking photos of the fabulous gardens and architecture, asking the LDS missionaries questions, and passionately talking about what she does. So, introducing…hollyblog….
When Gina asked me to do a guest blog-ette to tell you what I am up to now…I thought, and then I wrote, and then I erased, thought some more, typed, erased, typed, erased, you get the picture…
Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice, that’s what little hollyblogs are made of…
At hollyblog, we’ll get to the bottom of these burning issues:
(I am after all the queen of the mixed metaphor…my mother calls me Mrs. Malaprop.)
Crayons, paper, scissors…
Have featherweight, will travel…
Pad Thai 101
Travels & Travails…
Design Observations, Inspirations & Permutations…
Patisseries, my specialty…
Furry Friends & Kindred Spirits…
Five kitties & a little deaf dog…
I break for flea markets…
Road Food yes, Road Kill no…
(because it’s all about the food, right?)
What’s shaking at the LakeHouse?
I’m just about at the half way point on life’s little journey…I’ve been taking names and numbers and making mental notes on just about everything and everyone I’ve met for most of my life. (Now where did I put those files?)
I may be getting wrinkled & hormonal, but honey, life is a buffet so take a plate and pass the potato salad.
Join me won’t you?
H2
I’ll a blog a little each day till I make a good crack at it.
Ed Note: Thanks Holly for opening our eyes a bit wider and for taking a chance on us and letting us design the quilt below with your fabulous La Belle Rose collection! ...We will never look at a fence of flower the same.
