Are You Ready For A Patchwork Party? Here Is A Sneak Peek Of The Next Party And An Invite From Debby Luttrell For "Ya All To Come And Play"

Wanna join a patchwork party?  The next Patchwork Party starts on Augustpatchwork%20party%20invite.jpg 15...But here is a sneak peek and some of the details about the event.  Debby Luttrell, the mastermind, owner and creator behind this “internet” event, tells us more about the party and how to join! (Debby also has a few other events happening at her shop you may be interested in...)

Here’s Debbie:
Lots of people ask me about the Patchwork Party.  What is it?  Quite simply it is an Internet quilting party that attracts thousands of quilters.  This isn't your grandmother's quilting bee, where a dozen gray haired ladies gathered around a quilting frame to stitch and chat.  In this day of the world wide web, quilter's are internet savvy, surfing the web to find quilt shops, block patterns and fabric. patchwork%20party%20fabric.jpg

In 2006, I envisioned 12 online quilt shops getting together for a new and exciting quilting event. Each shop would sell a different sampler quilt block kit then take the 12 different blocks and come up with a unique design for completing a quilt. That would give our very special customers 12 different options for completing her own quilt.

 Once set on a course, I researched the Internet for the best online shops to include in this project and chose well known designer Marti Michell to design the quilt blocks. Maywood Studio's Willowberry Winter fabric was chosen and the first Patchwork Party was launched in August of 2006. After an overwhelming success , quilters were clamoring for more. Patchwork Party 2007 – Spring edition followed using the Sanctuary fabric collection from Moda.  Each Patchwork Party edition is only offered for a limited time.

The next Patchwork Party begins August 15, 2007. This party will feature:

    * Home for the Holiday (see photos), a beautiful floral fabric, designed by Faye Burgos for Marcus Brothers.
    * 12 Incredible online quilt shopspatchwork%20party%20a%20tisket%20small.JPG
    * 12 newly designed blocks from Marti Michell
    * 12 completely different finished quilts.  Shown here is the quilt from Stitchin' Heaven featuring embroidered baskets named "A Tisket, A Tasket..."

Everyone is invited to join the next Party.  Visit www.patchworkparty2007.com for a complete list of the shops and more details.  The consumer will find a quilt gallery showing all of the quilts in one place and even a "Party Planner" - a PDF file for the participant to print and keep by their computer as they go from shop to shop buying blocks.  Our customers told us they love this addition because it keeps them from getting confused and ordering blocks twice.

To get things rolling I would like to invite all of the readers of Quilter's Buzz a "Sneak Peek" on August 14 - one day before our official kick off.  I encourage everyone to purchase their block as well as the finishing kit early to insure they get their favorite.  The earlier purchasespatchwork%20party%20home%20for%20the%20holidays.jpg are made the less chance of being disappointed because fabric is not available.  Blocks must be purchased before November 30 and finishing kits will be sold as long as fabric is available.
