I have heard it through the woven world of the fabric grapevine that two creative talents are joining the design team at Moda/United Notions.

Joelle Hovenson, owner of Manhattan's purl soho and purl patchwork and the fantastic blog, the "purl bee" is creating one of the new fabric lines.

I am very interested in what "look" she is going for.  I got the chance to see a bit of Joelle's style when her apartment was featured in Martha Stewart's Blueprint magazine (June '07 issue).

The pattern for the quilt on Joelle's bed is listed on Blueprints website. As a matter of fact, Stephanie and I quilted that quilt for her.  We got our name listed in the magazine as the ones who "quilted and finished" her quilt. (Pretty cool for us.)

Anyway, congrats to Joelle.  I am sure I can talk her into "telling us more" and giving us a sneak peek of the line.  And if you haven't been to the "purl bee" blog...it is a must see blog. 

The other "girl" joining the design team is a talented artist/illustrator who has already wrtten over 150 books and has published hundreds of millions of greeting cards and other goodies....Now, Mary Engelbreit will be designing fabrics for Moda and for us! Most of you probably already know of Mary..her Home Companion magazine..her unique look...and fresh style using "Breit" colorways.  She is a talented catch, for sure--I am anxious to see what this "queen of everything" has in store for us as well.
