First, Charm Packs...Then, Jelly Rolls, Now...New, From Moda "Layer Cakes"--A Set Of 40 Fabrics Measuring 10" x 10"...Read All About Them And Make A Comment And Win!

I am always on the lookout for what’s new from MODA.  Not only fabric lines, but new cuts and packaging of their fabric collections.  And yup, I think they have done it again!UnitedNotionsBanner.gif

Moda created “charm packs”-- 5” cuts of fabric for us to “taste” and sew with…and “jelly rolls”-- 2 1/2” strips of fabric rolled up in a cute little package.  Now, there are a bunch of patterns out there “catering” to the use of the charm packs andjelly%20roll.jpg jellys…well, what is next?  Here is, Lissa Alexander, marketing director for Moda telling us….

 “Hello to all,

With less than 1 week left before the big show, I thought I would let you know of a few things happening here at Moda.

We are introducing a new cut program at Quilt Market. Layer Cakes, yes, more food names..... Are sets of 40 fabrics that measure 10" x 10". This size is a great addition to our ever popular charm packs and Jelly Rolls.

We have chosen this size due to the versatility it will provide for existing patterns as well as expand the possibilities. Existing pattern designs for charm packs can now be super sized by making the designs from a layer cake. Layer cakes are equal to 4 charm packs.charm%20pack.jpg

We will be introducing 10 new flavors, I mean fabrics!!

We are also doing a range of Marble Jelly Rolls and Bella Solid Jelly rolls.

The next best thing to fabric is food so I guess that is why all our cuts tend to be named after desserts.”

Thanks Lissa!

MAKE A COMMENT AND WIN!

I will be picking up a few charm packs, jellys and layer cakes at Market and sharing them with you as give-a-ways!

 Answer this question and WIN!

If Moda sent you a “layer cakes” fabric collection…Who would you make a quilt for and why?

Tell QuiltersBuzz and win!  Make a comment on this post and I will randomly pick several winners of Moda’s charm packs, jelly rolls or layer cakes
blossom%20layer.JPG collections…

I am not sure how many winners I will get to pick yet...because I need to score you guys some fabric from Moda..but lets say we will have at least 5 maybe more!

Contest ends on Oct. 31 at midnight Pacific Time.  Make a comment before that last trick or treater knocks on your door!

JUST IN-UPDATED ON OCT. 24 just before midnight....

Joanna of Fig Tree Quilts, got a hold of two packs of layer cakes and whipped up a pattern for you.. Here is her "Blossom" pattern... Literally, hot off the press and straight into your hands in blogland. And I am sure I can talk her into giving away a few of these patterns in our little giveaway...Right Joanna?

I plan to post regularly from Market, catching up with some friends…giving you a bit of show and tell of all thats new and great in the quilting world.

(Photos thanks to Moda...sorry no photo of the "layer cakes"--it is just too new...even for a sneaky sneaky peek!)

Wow, first comment, I feel special. If I won, I would make a quilt for our Hugs Ministry at church. We make quilts for children in crisis situations that need a hug. Thank you, Cory.

I'd use the layer cake to make a special quilt for my Dad - who made my wedding cake, and learnt cake decorating from his Mum!!

Gina, YOU SHOCK ME!! I mean really, you're supposed to USE THE FABRIC??? Make decisions??? Way more than I can handle right now!!

Can't wait to see you and your gigantic booth, I'll be there with my camera!

What a great idea - moda keeps coming up with them. I would make a quilt with the layer cake to display at my local quilt shop. Made up quilts do more to encourage new quilters than anything else. They also inspire quilters to purchase these 'showcased' fabrics in larger quantities for their own designs.

I think 'layer cakes' are a great idea. Sometimes 5 inches is just too small. If I won, I'd make a quilt for Project Linus, to be given to a child. I like to pass the benefit of being a winner onto someone who would probably get their first quilt. I have plenty for myself.

gosh, its like a menu and not knowing what to order....

I'd use it to make one for my mom. She's in and out of the hospital alot, and I can't always be there. This way part of me could! I LOVE the layer cake idea!

Wow, I don't have a wonderful organization in mind. My first thought was my little girl. She just got a new bed from her granparents as an early christmas gift and asked me to make something new to put on her bed.

Oooohh, LOVE the idea of the layer cakes....a nice compliment to the jelly rolls IMHO. :-)
Gee, I love MODA so much I would most likely make a quilt for me to keep and use on my bed, but then I have two daughters (24 & 22) who like MODA too and might find a way to put it in the suitcase to take back with them :-)

I would use the cake basket block and make a quilt for my sister! She's had a tough year and this would show her I love her.

I honestly don't know what I'd make a quilt for but Christmas is coming and I usually make a quilt I like then let the quilt "tell" me who it's for. Sometimes I don't know till I'm done =0) and sometimes it ends up mine LOL!!

I'm glad Moda introduced the Layer Cakes size. Not sure who I would make a quilt for if I won but it would be for someone on my Christmas list. Thanks for offering the contest.

I don't think it would be a quilt. I have about 3 quilts in the works and other would be just too much right now. I think I'd cut it up and use it to make some new bags... or maybe some journal covers... mmmm yes... some patchwork journal covers would be very very nice :D

Jennalou

It's so cute, I think I would just display it on my bookshelf. Just kidding. I'd probably use it to make a quilt or small project with my 9 year old daughter. She already loves "getting her hands" on new fabric. I have to watch my stash. This is a great way to start her on machine sewing.

What fun! I would probably make a quilt for one of my children. They appreciate all my hand made items. =)

If I won I would make a quilt for myself. I never make anything for myself, it's always for my kids or for friends and family. I would treat myself to a Layer Cake quilt. :)

Wow, layer cakes. I'm still working on adjusting to charms and jellys.

If I had a Layer Cake, I'd make a quilt for... someone who's never owned a quilt before.

This is not a tough decision with all that has been happening in Southern California! A quilt or two would be made for those affected by one of the many fires. I feel so blessed that my family is safe, it is time to share with others.

I get excited about ANYTHING Moda! My friends tease me because I know the names of all the fabric lines. I guess I am a fabric nerd! If Moda sent me "Layer Cakes" I would make a quilt for my son, Brian. He truly appreciates my handiwork and I know he treasures everything that I make for him.

Hi Gina,

I'd use Moda Layer Cakes to make a Threaded Pear "On Point" pattern quilt. I'd make it for a family member that has been in ICU for a month.

Your the best, Gina. Thanks!

I have a couple of girlfriends who are expecting and are due in the spring, so I'd make some baby-sized strip quilts for them.

I would make a quilt for my friend, Lisa. She and her husband have been through a lot this summer (deaths of 2 young girls he coached at school and the death of a good friend; all while adding on an addition to their house). Giving them a quilt would be a great way of giving them hugs every day!

I have a couple of girlfriends who are expecting and are due in the spring, so I'd make some baby-sized strip quilts for them.

I would make a quilt for my kitty, to keep her warm in winter.

What a great giveaway, I'm not sure, but possibly my mum, who as yet hasn't received a quilt from me.

I would use it to make my Grandma a quilt. She made me a quilt when I was a baby that I still have and is in pretty good condition, seems like I should pay her back with a quilt of her own.

If I win Moda's new "layer cakes" I would make a quilt for my granddaughter. I had made her a quilt, but the quilter's house burned along with the granddaugher's quilt. She (age 6) keeps wondering why her quilt isn't finished.

I think it would be fun to make a quilt for my grandma who's made so many for everyone in our family!

If I won, I would make a quilt for my nephews. I have made them many sweaters, however I haven't perfected the way to make children stop growing up, so they keep growing out of them! A lovely (and large) play-time quilt would be perfect!

I would make a quilt for my mom. She is my hero and friend. As a single mom she worked tirelessly to provide for her 4 children and many other "adopted" friends. Now she is retired and I want to lavish her with all of the joys she shared with me as a child. She is responsible for introducing me to the beauty of quilts and now I would like to give her a little beauty of her own.

If I win one of Moda's new "layer cakes" I would make a quilt for my sister because she keeps hoping that one of the quilts I make will go to her. She's not a quilter but loves Moda fabrics almost as much as I do. I think the Sister's Choice quilt block would be very appropriate for this quilt.

I think I would make something for my mom. Heaven knows she has made enough quilts, but she is always the one giving and never receiving! I would love to make something fun for her.

Gotta love Moda...A friend of my is having her first baby in late January. I would make her a lap quilt for snuggling up in with her new little girl.

Truth be told, I would be tempted to make one for myself! :) But I also would like to make a quilt for the wonderful woman who cleans my house every week -- she is really my biggest encourager, and every week tells me how much she loves the things I sew, and how she wishes she had time to sew, etc. etc. She works so hard and supports so many family members with her work alone. She truly deserves a beautiful quilt.

I'd make a quilt for my friend Carolyn because she really appreciates quilting but hasn't started doing it herself. She goes to quilt shows and takes her 12 year old daughter with her. And she's been interested in seeing what I've been doing. I just started quilting this year. A layer cake would be great fun cause I'm still learning how to pick out fabrics that can go together.

If I won, I'd make a quilt for my grandma. When I first started quilting, she said this was a nice way for me to get into "real" sewing. (Gee... thanks, Gran!)

But she recently complimented me on my quilts and said that she had no idea that quilts could be so beautiful. Now that's she's come around, it's time to make her a beautiful quilt of her own!

Hi,

I'm glad I'm not the only one who said they would make a quilt for themself! I think I really deserve a beautiful quilt for my bed - I always give all my quilts away and I have a very ugly duvet on my own bed. Not very good advertising for a quilter!

A layer cake sounds wonderful! I can't wait until they come out. I think I'd make a quilt for my Mom because she is the best!

What a wonderful new product! Ten inches is a good size piece of fabric to cut and piece with. I would make a lap quilt for one of my children. They are all married with families, and I know that throws get used often.

I am LOVING the layer cake idea. As said in a previous comment, the ten inch blocks show more of the fabric's pattern. I would make a baby quilt for my soon to arrive niece or nephew. Makes sense to me. Something new for somebody new!

I'm constantly amazed at how new fabrics are presented and marketed - so FUN! These layer cakes 'take the cake'! LOL Would love to use them in a wedding quilt I need to make for a good friend.

let me see, free Moda fabric...sign me up! What a great idea! I would definitely make a quilt for my sweet hubby, who indulges my fabric obsession with no complaint.

I would make a quilt for Moi. I always seem to give the quilts I make away !
I need one lap sized to cuddle up with. Moda always seems to be ahead with great ideas to "charm" us quilters with. This layer cake idea is almost edible !

As selfish as this sounds, I would make a quilt for myself. I love the idea of surrounding myself in beautiful fabrics.

I'm just on pins and needles to see a picture of these elusive new Layer Cakes. If I won, I'd make a quilt for my mother-in-law, who always admires my quilts but has not been the recipient of a bed-sized quilt yet.

As usual, I'd make a quilt for Project Linus, and specially for a little girl.

btw...next they will be selling inchies in a bundle, don't you think? We've moved from FQ to F8ths, to jellyrolls, and now layer cakes.

I would make a quilt for my Mother-in-law who is in a nursing home in whittier with beginning stages of dementia and parkinsons.Something to keep her warm and remind her of home.

Oh Heavens! Would I have to MAKE a quilt? Couldn't I just use it for inspiration to LOOK at??? ;-)

I'd make a wedding quilt for a couple of dear friends getting married in a few months. They don't have a lot of money for a wedding or to redecorate the tiny apartment they live in which is really a bachelor pad of many years - it needs to have a more feminine touch and they deserve a beautiful handmade heirloom.

If I won, I would use the Moda Layer Cake to make a quilt as a gift of thanks for a friend to celebrate our long friendship. She doesn't quilt, but goes shopping with me and loves to feel the fabric.

I just made a quilt with a Moda jelly roll and it was so much fun! Can't wait to the the Moda Layer Cake. If I won a Moda Layer Cake I would make a quilt for someone who needs a quilt.

I'd make a quilt for my daughter, who is hoping to set up her own household soon...

I would make a quilt with appliqued cheeries. You can't have a cake without a cherry on top!

I love the idea of layer cakes! I would make a quilt for my Grandma. She's been down on her luck health-wise, and that would pick up her spirits. She has been a constant source of love in my life and a quilt hug back is the least I can do.

If I win I will make a quilt to donate to someone who lost everything in the CA wildfires.

If I were to win this blog candy, I would make a quilt for my Mom - she needs a new one as the one I made for her 5 years ago is starting to look old.
THANKS for offering this blog candy!!!

I guess I'd have to make something delicious for myself, since I'm dieting. Finally, a layer cake that will make me happy and have zero calories. Heaven!!!

If I won this...I would most definitely make a quilt for my grandson. He told his mother the other day that he really wanted a quilt because it would be cozy on his bed.
Gotta love that kid!
Even if I don't win this, I will still make him one....and one for his little brother, too.
:o)

Well, I would have to see the fabric first and let it inspire me. I have many people on my list to make quilts for so it would depend on the colors. Fun contest! Thanks

I recently became addicted to collecting charm packs. I'm like a kid in a candy store. Bigger is better, so I would love to start a collection of Layer Cakes. The best part of any new fabric aquistion is flipping through magazines and books, imagining all the possibilities. Eventually, I find the perfect combination of fabric and pattern and tend to pass the quilt along to whoever I begin to think of when I am working on the quilt.

I would make a quilt for our oldest graddaughter who is adopted. She is very special and dear to me as I was also adopted as a baby. I would love to give her a quilt for her H.S. graduation in two years.

I would use these beautifully-colored fabrics to make a quilt for my son Lorin who has just returned home from a year-long deployment in Balad, Iraq. He is back at college, organizing a new home and would love receiving a cheery and thoughtful gift of a quilt from his grateful and happy-have-him-Mom!

Gina-
Ofcourse I will jump in and give away some "Blossom" freebies! It was a fun and simple quilt to make and I know that your bloggers will enjoy whipping up some of their own "Blossoms" with their favorite new Layer Cakes.
You gotta love those food names over there in MODA land. I wonder if they starve Lissa before she names these suckers :-)!!
See you soon,
Joanna

Moda must have read my mind! I was in the process of making some bunting and thought 'if only such yummy fabric came in larger than 5" squares (but smaller than a fat quarter)' and It Will! Yay Moda! I think I would make lots of bunting with it, because a little bit (or a lot) of 'flying triangles' gives me such a happy feeling, maybe because it reminds me of happy celebrations, friends and family coming together, and I would love to pass on that joy. Thanks Gina and Joanna for being so generous - you girls rock!

If I was lucky enough to win!!

My husband has just been moved to an Aged Care facility.......
and knowing how he loves his "special quilt"(made four years ago by some online friends when he was diagnosed with cancer)
I'd love to make some lap quilts for the other residents to brighten their days and as a token of appreciation for the care and friendship they have shown for my DH and me.

Charm packs OK. Jelly rolls fantastic. Layer cakes perfect! I have a number of patterns that I can immediately use with this size of offering! I appreciate the creativity of the designers in delivering new patterns using the new sizes (note the large number of jelly roll patterns now) and I expect to enjoy viewing all the new layer cake patterns that are soon to be seen.

As my boys age (they're now 6 and 8), I'm planning to help new mothers who seek assistance at our local crisis pregnancy center. The birth of a baby is to be cherished and I would love to share of the joy of creating a nursery (a haven for mother and baby) with a quilt and other fabric-based items.

My oldest daughter is at a really tough college and has been majorly stressed for 2 years. One source of comfort has been the tshirt quilt I made for her which has been greatly admired by all her friends. I would love to make her another quilt for her futon to remind her of how much we love her and that we're behind her all the way.

I love cake, so if I won this contest I would make a quilt for my daughters dorm room! She loves to snuggle up with a quilt while studying and the new layer cakes sound like they would work up really fast! Then she and her study buddy could each have a quilt to wrap up in. I might also send her a small cake to eat as well!!!!! Yum!

I would make a quilt for my daughter who's spending next semester in Australia. It would be small enough to pack and big enough to wrap her in a hug from home!

I'm moving to a new home in January, so I'd probably use the fabric to make something new and special for my new place. So many possibilities, so little time...

This is a great idea. Love it. I like to make quilts with lots of colors and this will be one way I can do it. I love all kinds of fabric. Thanks Moda.

I thought I posted yesterday but now I don't see my post so here goes again! I would start a project with my 9 year old daughter. It would be our first quilt together. She gets just as excited as I do when she sees new fabric. Thanks so much for offering a chance to this great cake.

I would make a quilt for my youngest son. He's always getting his older brothers' hand-me -downs and something special, just for him, would make him very happy.

I don't know who I would make the quilt for. I probley wouldn't keep it, as I give away most of my quilts to family, frinds, or charitys. It makes me smile just thinking about somebody enjoying a quilt I made even if I don't know them.

Love the idea of layer cakes.
I would make a quilt for my sister because she is the most thoughtful and caring person and always thinking and doing for others, and I would love to make a quilt for her as she is going through a rough time right now.

I'd make something to give to the Habitat for Humanity Auction next spring. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

What a fun drawing ~ thank you!

I would make a quilt for my sister. I miss her, a lot. She is in California and I am in Maryland. She is my little Pooh and I am her Bee.

Thought I posted yesterday but don't see it. If I won the layer cakes, I would make a quilt for my 6 year old granddaughter. I made a quilt for her and sent it to a quilter. Her house burned along with the quilt for Sydney. I haven't been able to make another one for her yet. She keeps asking when the quilter will be through with her quilt.

The layer cakes look great! If I won a layer cake, I would make a quilt for my dad, because he is the nicest man and always makes sure everyone is taken care of. Right now he squishes himself under a teeny tiny lap quilt.. it's actually pretty funny to see...

It would depend a bit on the fabric, but I would make a quilt for my eight year old nephew who appreciates beauty and warmth.

I love the idea of the layer cakes! I order the charms to really see the fabrics up close and then order the yardage I want. I would probably make a quilt for my daughter-in-law. She's just starting to sew and I want her to realize what a difference quality fabric makes!

I keep buying said charm packs and jelly rolls but almost always end up needing more fabric. But I can't stop because they're so cute! Must have layer cake! If I win, I'll make a quilt for my aunt to thank her for painting my living room while she was on vacation (her idea!) ~A :-)

It's such a luxury to be able to get all the fabrics in a line. I would make a quilt for my son & his wife who recently moved from NYC to Geneva, Switzerland so that he would have something from me in his new home.

If I won the Layer Cake, I'd promptly make my mom a quilt. She is in assisted living 2000 miles away from me and could really use a warm "hug" a handmade quilt always gives! I'm working on an applique wallhanging for her that includes her favorite pets throughout her life, but I know that she would really savor and appreciate a bed quilt. Thanks!!

Actually, not to sound selfish, but, I would make a quilt for myself! I always make quilts for others and have never actually one for me!

Our quilting group at church makes healing quilts to loan or give to members of the congregation at times of need. I would use the fabric to make one of these, since they are always in demand and they really provide comfort.

Our small town often has benefit auctions for people in need. The last two were to raise money to help pay for medical expenses for individuals with cancer. Since I made quilts for the last two auctions, I would use the layer cake fabric to make a quilt to donate for the next auction.

If I won I would use the fabric to make a quilt for my daughter and soon to be son-in-law. I have not yet started on their wedding quilt and they are to be married in June.

I think I would have to "season" the Layer Cake at my house for a short time and then whip it into a snuggly quilt for my MIL- she just had a cancerous kidney removed. She lives in ID and we don't get to see them much but I want to send her a "get-well-hug" quilt.

Now we're talking! What a lot of options these 10 inch squares will provide! Brilliant idea! I would love to do something in that Blossom's pattern Joanna created. It would work with just about any new fabric line.

If i won the fabric, I'd make a quilt for my mother, w/ wool batting to keep her warm this winter

I'd make a quilt for my mom, who taught me to quilt.

First thing I'd do is lick that delicious Moda Layer Cake, and lick it good. And then I'd take my stash of yummy Jelly Roll's and tasty Charm Packs and roll around in them. And then I'd make a quilt for me. Seriously... would anyone want a quilt I licked and rolled around in???

i would use the fabric to make a quilt or tablecloth or lap quilt for my friend jackie who is always helping others..she just got back from new orleans and is now going to san diego to help do what she can with all the fires we are having..she and her church is helping people here in orange county as well

As my husband is the baker in our family, I believe it is time he got a quilt of his own. All my quilts seem to end up leaving my home.

Great idea and perfect size for a "whack n stack" quilt for my sisters kitchen tea. All those attending could embroider their names on the "layer cake" quilt. A delicious gift fit for a lolliholic about to be married.

Keep up the blogging.

easy a layer cake= 4 charm packs therefore 4 baby quilts. One for myself one for 2 expectant mum friends and one for the local children's hospital.

Layer cakes sound great, I already collect charm packs by the 2-3 if I love a range and this would be much easier to explain when I have a surprise stash inspection conducted by the stash police ( my sewing sunday gals) They haven't quite got the hang of stashing yet but they do enjoy checking out my latest additions.
Moda's packaging rocks. Jelly rolls and charm packs are my fav gifts for newbies (as well as us old hands)

I have been quilting for almost 10 years and I have yet to make a quilt for me, so I'd make it for me! It does sound selfish, but it is *my* hobby after all, shouldn't I have something to show for it?!

Err...I guess I should fess up and call it what it is...an obsession, not a hobby :)

What a great idea. I love to applique and I can get a nice assortment of fabrics in a charm pack but most of the time the pieces are just too small. I would probably use the fabric on several projects I am working on--Birds of a Feather wallhanging, a QOV, placemats for Christmas Meals on Wheels, Christmas stockings for Crisis Center, etc., etc., ....

I would make a few quilted placemats or napkins to send along with my holiday donation to "Meals on Wheels". They just usually have you sign a card to enclose with one of the home delivered meals but something handmade for more than one person is even nicer. (Meals on Wheels is my Northern CA, not for profit, meal delivery program for invalids, elderly, alone persons.)

Paula Deen! Who would like a layer cake more...?! A quilt that would feel the tummy & the soul. Nice! Thanks Moda for continuing to evolve, so/sew we can continue to create! : ) Piecefully, Pam

Paula Deen! Who would like a layer cake more...?! A quilt that would feed the tummy & the soul. Nice! Thanks Moda for continuing to evolve, so/sew we can continue to create! : ) Piecefully, Pam

I would make a quilt for my friend Betty, who is the sweetest person I know.
Pam

Wow, just found your blog and loving it! When I was a kid and learned to crochet, I made this crazy "quilt" for my mom & dad. It was awfully ugly, made with left over scraps in every color imaginable. Well, for many years that ugly quilt had a place of honor on the back of the sofa in the family room and everytime I went to visit I said "please get rid of that thing". God love my mother, she always said it was beautiful. All these years later and a lot of sewing (no more crocheting, fortunately)since if I won I would make a beautiful quilt for my mother for having endured the other for so long, she most definitely deserves it.

I'd make a quilt for my mother. She was always making clothing and such for me growing up and I'd like to return the favor and show her that her "lessons" paid off.

I would make a quilt for my husband, who complains that I make quilts for other people, but never for him.

I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I'd make a quilt for her to take to chemo treatments. She could think of it as a layer of prayers, keeping her safe and warm.

Oh! Oh! Oh! My niece's house got half way burned by the fires. The house is in bad shape but she and her DH are ready and willing to clean up, build up, and keep their chins up! The Moda fabric will be used in a quilt for their new bedroom! And she loves Moda fabric!!!! Cynthia B

What a great idea! Oh....the quilts I could make........... Though really, couldn't I just keep it to admire and pet??

Oh my, of course my first grandbaby due in the April! And the Fig Tree pattern looks just perfect!

i would make a quilt for my daughter seeing as she is trying to change her room with limited funds and that would be a perfect present for her and in time for Christmas.

I am very happy about the idea of more jelly rolls, bigger pieces of "charms" (10"x10") and more, more MODA! I am fairly new to quilting and use a lot of different moda fabrics..excellent quality and selection. I would like to see some more reproduction fabrics (especially 1800's). I'll be watching for it!!!!! (I am one more fabric-aholic!)

I'd make a quilt for my daughter. She's worn out the quilt I made for her bed.

WoW! Layer cakes is a great idea! I really like the Trail Adventures fabric line. (I discovered it in a N. Dakota quilt shop!) I would make a quilt for my hubby who loves the outdoors and who would appreciate a "Guy" kind of cuddly item. He does look rather silly wrapped up in a pink and purple batik (he calls it hippie fabric). Thanks for more Moda!

If I were fortunate enough to receive "Layer Cakes" from Moda I would make a quilt for my best friend. She is struggling with the death of her mother and trouble in her marriage. She needs some extra comfort and I can think of no better way to comfort her than to make her a quilt with such lovely fabric. Thank you!

Hi Gina, what a great idea, I love how you are always on the "buzz" with what is new in quilting.

Well, my only daughter, who is the first granddaughter, is pregnant, she will also have the first great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild in May 2008....so, I will be creating a special quilt for the new baby! everyone is excited and can't wait to find out what it will be, a Sara or a Ryan! "grandma" and "mom" want a SARA! :)

Cake, Jelly, chocolate....I take 2 of each....haha
I am very curious about this 'layer cake'....oh all the new patterns....exciting.

Oh I didn't answer the question..oops! I would make a quilt for each of my daughters....they are my biggest fans.

I adore Moda Charms and Jellys, this is just the icing on the cake! LOL

As for winning... I'm not even going to try. Hands down, my vote goes to...

Posted by: Jeannine | October 24, 2007 8:13 AM

I would make a quilt for my mom. She is my hero and friend.

That brought tears to my eyes. Jeannine, I hope you win!

If I won, I'd make a quilt for the Quilters Care for Quilters for someone who lost it all in the fires of Southern California this season.

I would like to make a special quilt for a very special friend for a special reason. He has just received a diagnosis that he has pancreatic cancer. His future is in God"s hands. Here on earth he is a person who has so many wonderful "layers of good will and kindness" for all those in his path both humans and animals. A beautiful quilt made of many pieces would be a tribute to him and all his acts of kindness. It should be a quilt full of loving comfort for the difficult days.
