Look For The McCall's Quilting Magazine Article About Quilting Blogs...Written By Holly Holderman of Lakehouse DryGoods...Quilter's Buzz Makes The Cut And Gets In The Magazine

So what has Holly Holderman been up to lately?holly%20booth.gif

Well for starters, Stephanie and I (and our Threaded Pear Studio) got the pleasure—for the second time--to design a few quilts out of several new fabric lines for Holly for Fall Market.

It so fun to get handfuls of tasty fabric, months before anyone else sees or touches it, and get a chance to play and to design something with it.

We felt like spies with top secret fabric—we sewed only at night with the curtains drawn…and we answered questions to no one!  Our quilts (see our pink "Bullseye, Buttons and Yoyo's, Oh My!" quilt tied up to the left of the photo above) were presented at Holly’s booth and received great attention and the requests for our patterns are really starting to roll in now!hollyblog%20banner-thumb.JPG

Holly and crew “Wows!” all at Market year after year… Check out her recent blogging posts at Hollyblog to see for yourself!

Thanks Holly for the opportunities you presented to us rookie designers (me and steph in photo) in our first year…The exposure and experience has been incredible.  And thanks for the good times at the Strip House. (As in “steak” not “Chippendale”)steph%20and%20gina.jpg

 McCall's Comes A Calling!

But, now Holly has something else up her sleeve…when she had time… I do not know…

Holly has written her first ever magazine article and it is just about to hit the newsstands.  Her article on "Blogs That I Love" is in the McCall’s Quilting Feb 2008 issue—which is shipping to stores this week.

And Holly, being somewhat of a control freak—self admitted, of course,—managed to squeeze in a 1,000 word article into a 750 word allocated space, and convinced the McCall’s Quilting magazine graphics art department that she could design the graphics for the article as well.—a first for McCall’s to “out source” the artwork whether they wanted to or not.

And of course, they loved all that she did.  Look for the article about 20 different quilting bloggers—including a little something about QuiltersBuzz.

Looking forward to reading her debut article.  Congrats woman!blogicon2.jpg

And congrats to those making the cut for the magazine!

OHMYGOSH THIS IS THE FIRST I HEARD OF THE 'TITLES'. Good grief. I'm also thrilled.

This is the next level Gina!

YEAH GINA, PAM & ELIZABETH!

Read about blogs last night in McCall's Quilting and just spent almost 2 hours checking them out! Thanks for all the links since I'm new at this!

Thanks for reading my blog and the magazine!

HELPI bought a kit for a romance and Roses pattern that was in one of the magazines a few years ago. It used the checks and the cranberry dots as well as the beautiful toile. Obviously I HAD the magazine, but alas, I either cannot find it, remember which one (More likely) or have no eathly idea where I put it.

If anyone has any idea which 'zine it was in or has one I can buy, please email me.

I just found this site and it's great.
Now I have a big question.
Does anyone have a copy or could you tell me where to get a copy of:
McCall's Quilting
May/June 2007
Name is: High Definition.
Please let me know.
Thank you and Happy Quilting.
