We all love quilts. But I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
Somehow I missed Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day yesterday. It was news to me but every year on April 29th, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream gives away free cones of their tasty cold treat at their Scoop Shops. Did any of you cash in yesterday with a scoop of Chunky Monkey, Cherry Garcia or New York Super Fudge Chunk? Let me know. I wonder if there were large crowds. Last year Ben & Jerry’s served more than one million scoops.
If you missed the Ben & Jerry’s promo but still want a deal on some ice cream, your local Baskin Robbins is the place to be tonight. Today, April 30th from ![]()
And your indulgence also is for a good cause.....
31 Cent Scoop Night at Baskin-Robbins is an annual event to honor the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which assists the families of fallen firefighters and provides training to current firefighters to prevent deaths in the line of duty and help us honor America’s firefighters. From the proceeds of the promotion, Baskin-Robbins will donate $100,000 to this foundation.
Quilters are givers. I know so many who are busy quilting for charity. Many of us quilters love ice cream. So scoop up some ice cream and enjoy some goodwill!
Leave a comment and tell me about your great charity quilt work past or present. We must have at least "31" charitiy quilts going right now. I'll make a random drawing from the comments on this post and send the lucky winner a Baskin Robbins gift certificate! Yum Yum.

I love this marketing idea. I think we should try and come up with a quilting flavor???? Maybe a contest we could launch? grandma's garden surprise?
We all need to put this on the calendar.

I work in the comic book industry, and Saturday May 3rd is Free Comic Book Day! http://www.freecomicbookday.com
I am working on quilting a school house block quilt for a very very small church in rural Illinois, in which many of my ancestors are buried in the cemetery. They need money for cemetery upkeep, and I am making this quilt for a raffle of theirs!
Love the blog!
