I got myself a little sneaky peak of this new book from Australian designers Sarah Fielke and Kathy Doughty (of Material Obsession --quilt shop and blog and now author--fame!) when I was booth neighbors with Sarah at Quilt Market this Spring.

Sarah and hubby, Damian, traveled half way across the world to promote Sarah’s book, “Material Obsession” and for Damian to promote his recent partnership with FabricMatcher (his company) and Moda Fabrics.

(If you have not played with FabricMatcher, you must! Plus Moda is hosting a contest during October!)

I received a copy of the book, Australian style! And I love, love. love it!  Bright, fun "modern quilts with traditional roots". Lot of amazing  photos and hand drawn diagrams. 

Now, you may pre-order it on Amazon  ($16.47 pre-order price--that is amazing--a perfect Holiday gift!).

The American version has a different cover, but the same insides including a book forward by Kaffe Fassett. Good work girls.

Hello America!

Hey, guess what? All you girls over in the US of A can now go on to Amazon USA and pre-order the Material Obsession book! It just went up a couple of days ago, so finally all those of you who have been emailing can ALMOST get your hands on one.

Just so you know, they have listed it as being by Sarah Fielke, Kathy Doughty and Kaffe Fassett - we'll have to get on to them about that one, as Kaffe just wrote a foreword for us. 

And now..... drumroll.... I am going to give you a VERY sneaky peek of what the cover will look like (see above photo!). I don't actually know if I am allowed to show you this, but what the hey - I can always take it down later, right? Here goes.....

Do you like it? Pretty different from the Australian version. So that's what you're looking out for in the shops over there, please be advised that the content is the same, it's not the second book, just a different cover for the first one! Have fun.....
