Tooting My Own Horn! Sneak Peek Of Threaded Pear Studio's New Quilting Pattern, "Charming Baby Log Cabin"--Make A Comment For A Chance To Win A Quilt Kit and Pattern!

It is Quilt Market time…you may have noticed how some of the regular quilty bloggers have been neglecting their audience….including me!  Sorry.

Yup, crunch time has hit and we are working hard to bring you all bunch of new stuff!charming%20baby%20pink.jpg

But, I thought I would share one of my newest patterns, it is a spinoff of my very first pattern “Charming Log Cabin”…I call it “Charming Baby Log Cabin”.  Of course, as always it is a quickie but a goodie.   You can piece this top in less than two hours!

My inspiration…

When I first saw, Sandi Henderson Farmer’s Market line from Michael Miller, I knew I found the fabric to make the next Threaded Pear Studio pattern, Charming Baby Log Cabin!

And then, I am always on the scout for good boy fabrics and I discovered Marcus Brother’s cowboy fabric, "American West", by Faye Burgos.  (Both my grandpas were cowboys and ranchers in Idaho!)  I made my “boy version” with big prairie points instead of scallops… I learned how to make Prairie Points from an Alex Anderson tutorial.charmin%20baby%20cowboy%20smaller.jpg

Just thought I would share my very own sneak peek of my new pattern.  Photos by my favorite photo man, Gregory Case.

Pattern will be shipping in mid-November-check your your local quilt shop.

A kit sounds perfect! Just the pattern and I might get stuck in the fabric selection stage :)

Ooooh, I love that pattern. And it's so fun to see different versions of it!

Wow, what a cute little quilt! My nephew just turned one and I promised a "useable" quilt to him for Christmas. One he can drag around. His mom wants to keep the one I made him for his birth to hand down to his children.... I know, she likes to plan ahead, LOL.

This looks PERFECT for a child's "blankie"!!! So simple I could probably whip up a few! That way when mom is washing one, he still has his blankie to cuddle up with. Great pattern and really cute looking quilts!

This quilt is so precious! My daughter-in-law just told me today that she'd like to learn to quilt. She and my son are expecting their first child next spring! What a wonderful gift it would make for her!!

What a great quick quilt! So cute!

what a cute pattern..I don't, as a general rule, even LIKE log cabin as a pattern, but yours is very nice!

Oh this is just beautiful! I love that it can be pieced in 2 hours, perfect for my ADD brain! :)

I love the fancy borders along side the traditional log cabin.

*drool* I LOVE the new Farmers Market materials... and that baby log cabin quilt is SOOOOOO ADORABLE! I would LOVE to have that.... My eyes are filling with tears over the sheer awesomeness of it! *wink* :)

Love the baby log pattern...what a fun giveaway also...of course I love both the girl and the boy design!

cute pattern . Linda Gerig

Very, very cute quilt blocks. I would so love to make one.....or both. I love that you have something for a boy. I often want to make gifts for the male types and this would be perfect!
Thanks for your generosity, your work is just lovely.

cute, cute cute!! love the patterns and the quilts!! i love Sandi Henderson's fabric too. perfect combination!!

I love how you used the Farmer's Market fabrics in your new Charming Log Cabin quilt. Very cute!

I love the pattern! Easy to sew, and lots of nice areas to highlight quilting...but it would look equally great with an over-all stipple design, too! FUN give-a-way!!

I love the fabric choices for these baby quilts and I love the fact that it can be pieced quickly.

I love the quilt --the fabric and the pattern. I especially like that it's not made with "baby" fabric. It looks easy to make and modern. So charming!!!

oh my, that is adorable!

Beautiful! I would love to quilt with these fabrics!!!

I love your new quilt pattern. It looks easy to make and is so charming.

That's a great-looking pattern. It almost makes me want to have a baby around again.

Wow! Between Theaded Pears' darling fabrics and your "Baby Log Cabin" name for the quilts~ these are delightful! I'm just learning to do log cabin designs, so this "Baby" larger concept is great! Helps me see what is what and where is where! Thanks! Joani B

What a great pattern! I can see I could make several pretty quickly and all be so different, great idea! Please enter my name for the drawing!

Oh my goodness! Both quilts are adorable.Quick and easy to assemble is a bonus too. :)

I love this pattern - it is so versatile. And cute, of course!

I love those scalloped edges!

My grandparents were cowboys in Idaho, too! My maternal grandpa just passed away this summer while he was busy doing cowboy things. I'm now expecting a new baby boy who will be named after my cowboy grandpa. A cowboy quilt to wrap him up in would be perfect and full of wonderful memories for our new little guy!!

What a great looking quilt. simple, easy and quick...love them both..

This is great - I love both of them!
What a beautiful job!
Elizabeth M in MA

Both of those quilts are darling! We've been having a "run" on baby boys around here...so I would know exactly which kit I'd pick...if so lucky. Looks like a terrific pattern for any collection of fabric!

It seems like all of our friends are having babies this year so a quilt kit would be great for making a gift!

Oh Gina, too cute! I can't wait to order them at market. What is your booth number???

Cute, I just love the Farmer's Market fabic!

For those coming to Quilt Market or Quilt Festival....I will be at both in booth number 2030/34. Please stop by and say HI!
Thanks for reading
Gina

Wow, what a cute pattern for a baby quilt! I like them both but am a sucker for the girlie stuff. Aww! Count me in...

This is such a fun pattern--I love that there is a version for boys too--great idea. I'm really into scallops lately and they sure make this quilt special!

How generous! I love the Sandy Henderson fabric and the scallops. :) Good Luck at the market!

How fun! What a great quilt pattern!

I love those quilts! Such a nice quick top to piece for a gift, but the scallops add a very nice touch.

Both of those quilts are adorable. It's amazing how cute fabric, and a great pattern can make such an easy quilt so amazingly cute.

I love the pattern and quilts. I have always wanted to try and do a scallop border. The colors are beautiful. And what a fun little boys quilt.

Dianah

Too Cute!! As a mom of a 6 month old baby boy, I've been looking at baby blankets for months now it seems and those are the cuttest that I have seen! Even if I don't win your contest I'm going to definately buy the pattern. They're that cute!

Love it! It doesn't look complicated, and I like the variations with the different fabrics. Changes the look totally. So cute!

That is a quick, cute quilt. I'd love to make one like this for my son.

Your quilts are so ADORABLE!! These baby quilts are to die for!
Way to go Gina!

So cute - and so simple! Could also be wonderful for a lap quilt with a quick change of fabrics...

How cute are those quilts! I need cute simple patterns just like that!

They look fabulous Gina. You go girl!!!
Jamie and mom both love their charming log cabin quilts. We did a fun pillow to match Jamie's quilt with her scraps.

How totally clever of you to put scallops and points on the ends. Seems like I should have thought of that, but noooooo. :)

I have the Charming Log Cabin pattern at home to make a quilt for ME after the holidays! I love it with the Farmer's Market fabrics as I just made a baby quilt of a different design with those fabrics, too. I am feeling so inspired lately!

Love the fabric and the design.

I love this. I just found out last night that a friend of mine is going to have a baby. This would be perfect!!

Sooo cute! Thanks for sharing :)

Both of those quilts are really nice. I really love how you finished the top and bottom of each quilt. (scallop &prairie points)

I just love the prairie points on the boy version! Such wonderful quilts. :)

My youngest sister, after 12 YEARS of trying, is having her first baby. We find out October 10th, what the sex of the baby will be. She would love this quilt!!!! Of course, she would love it even more, since I would be the one making it!!! :)

what a novel approach to log cabin! i love both versions, but think the cowboy theme is something i could easily saddle up to

That looks so quick and easy! I don;t suppose there are plans for a neutral one though?

I love those patterns! Looks so easy and I would love to make a baby quilt with it! I really like the cowboy themed one - a good way to use those types of fabrics without toooo much work!
Laura

I like the pattern its cute and looks very easiy. I LOVE Log Cabins. The fabrics are pretty.

I have been wanting to make the Charming Log cabin for a while. A baby version is a super great idea!

Gina-

Kim J

Love the pattern would be great for both of my new grandchildren - one girl and one boy.

This quilt has smile appeal! Cindy B

My best friend just had a baby girl, at 25 weeks, and I would love to make something for her and her new baby, as they fight together to get her home soon. I am stuck with what to make, so a kit would be a big help. She is 1 pound, 8 ounces and in the NICU. Anyone reading this, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I love these quick patterns that you have developed. Great for us working people and busy mom's! I especially am fond of the "boy" quilt as you don't see enough of them shown. Us Grandma's with grandsons are always on the lookout for a great boy print.

I love the girl one and I LOVE that it can be made so quickly. I hope I win!

Isn't that too cute! And the fabrics work perfectly. Though, as both sets are totally different you can really seee how this would work up as a darling quilt with tons of different fabrics. Fab!

Gina,
Love it! we have been anxiously awaiting its arrival in the shop!!! Send them to me asap!! Check out my blog for the charming log cabin in Ava Rose fabrics.

I could totally see my girls loving that quilt!

Fabulous quilts. They're totally something I could do!

I seem to be making a lot of quilts for babies and small children, both as gifts and donations. I love the log cabin block, my favorite, and I really love what you have done with it. Thank you for the ideas.

The first quilt I made was a log cabin and I've loved the design ever since. This pattern is adorable. I would love to make it.

oooo! I am a lover of log cabins!!!!

I love this pattern. What a great idea for a baby blanket. The scallops are so cute and the prairie points too. I would love a chance to win.

You know all boys born in Texas are cowboys. Perfect quick quilt for a Texas cowboy!

That is a great baby quilt pattern. I love it. It has a lot of depth and yet easy as a breeze.

This is a beautiful pattern. It looks like it will be quick, which is something we want for a baby quilt. Thank you for offering this wonderful prize. Take care and God bless, Cory

It is very pretty. I don't have much patience, I love quick quilts, and it doesn't look too hard. I love to quilt when I have time even though I'm not real good at it.

What a great design!

I like both patterns, especially the little boy's with the horses. I wish you a lot of success with your new patterns.
Shirley

Gina, You know I love this pattern. I think a gingerbread boy right in the center would make an adorable holiday quilt!
Cecilia H.

This quilt would be PERFECT in our family room. Pick me! ;o) ooxx`jodi

I absolutely LOVE what you have done in the examples. They are fantastic. I have a friend that had a boy and loves golf. I bought a bunch of coordinating golf themed fabrics and I need this pattern. It would be perfect. Thank you for letting me enter!

I just LOVE the pink one with the scallops, just beautiful!

Gorgeous pattern, and it looks easy enough to use as a gift. I love the fabric choices! I can envision the similar in pinks and browns.
Melanie

Oh WOW! I would love to make this for my sweet new grand baby.

I love that this is a quick quilt, a great one for Project Linus quilts. Thanks.

My friend just announced yesterday that she is expecting. I was wondering what pattern I would use and this looks like it! I'm so glad you did a boy's version. It's fun to see the same pattern made up in different ways. Your Threaded Pear patterns are so fun and easy and quick to make for gifts!

Oh my!!! I love BOTH of those Charming Log Cabin baby quilts!!! I think I NEEEEED to make them. I have your Charming Log Pattern quilt and this would be a GREAT one to have as well. I would really like to whip up a quick but beautiful quilt,=.

I love the quilt design. I am always looking for new, quicker, but clever settings for baby quilts. Right now I have saved numerous cowboy fabric for a quilt and this would be absolutely perfect.
I certainly enjoy reading your blog!
Thank you

I'm always looking for "boy" patterns that are quick and easy. I think the cowboy fabric is really showcased in this one. Great job!

They are just too beautiful. I MUST do them for the future grandkids. lol
Shirley

Wonderful use of color and very fun! I agree, a quickie but a goody. Great pattern for large prints or novelties.

Wow quick and cute! love it smaller...

I love this pattern! It is simple yet beautiful! Would be great for just about anyone in any fabric line. A winner for sure! thanks for putting my namein for the drawing. it is beautiful.

This is so sweet and simple. I believe simple is best!

Hi Gina!
Love the two versions of this wonderful pattern! A simple and quick quilt with a really great impact - that's right up my alley!!

Way to go!! Maybe I'll be your winner!
Betsy

I saw this pattern at the Pomona Quilt show, and my first thought was "Grandchildren and friends' babies Christmas and birthday presents - FAST!"
What a great design.

Darn - too late for the drawing -- But I love the pattern! I'm planning on using the American West fabric in our nursery. I was going to scale down the American West quilt pattern on the Marcus brother's site... but this one makes more sense to me for a baby quilt....

I wonder when the drawing for the prize will take place? The deadline was the 19th...but when will the drawing will be held? Can you tell that I'd like to win! :)

I absolutely love these quick quilts! The color selection and style are both great. OK so now I'm getting ready to make one myself. Thanks
