It was been a long time coming, but the episode I filmed for Alex Anderson's and Ricky Tim's "The Quilt Show" airs on Monday--And actually, you can see it for everyday for a whole year on this "online television" program--that is IF you wanted to!
I went to Colorado back in March to do the filming and it is finally going to air!
Alex called me yesterday to confirm that "for sure" I did not look like a dork--her team was just putting the finishing editing touches on the show and it is ready for airing on Monday.
Joanna Figueroa, the talent behind Fig Tree Quilts, shared the "spotlight" with me on episode #311.
Here is the link to the trailer for the episode and some photos of the filiming day (thanks to Gregory Case, official photographer for the show). I talked a bit about trends in quilting industry and about many of the things I write about on QuiltersBuzz.![]()
During the filming, I was also told, try not to "talk" with my hands...an impossibility for me...I tried to keep them still, but it just did not work!
I was also told not to pick up stuff as I was talking--(because of lighting and camera focus, etc...) and I could not stop myself. Anyway, overall I think things went well. Let me know what you think.
The Quilt Show is creating an interactive community of quilters from around the world and they offer a variety of quilting programs and activities, blogs, challenges, and clubs for you quilters to "play" with. As well as opportunites to "Show and Tell", make comments, provide tips and suggestions, etc.![]()
The basic membership is free, but you can sign up for a small yearly fee to participate in all of the programs and to see the filmed episodes.
The Quilt Show fillms 26 episodes each season and they are available for you to watch anytime--on your computer--for a small fee of $42.95 per season.
My episode is in the tail end of season 3, but if you sign up for Season 4 you get the tail end of season three as well...
It was an honor and fun to be a guest on the show...The staff and stars of the show are incredibly nice, talented and genuine.
And like all "movie premieres" my family, in true Hollywood style, will be celebrating the debut on Monday night...we will be having a night out on the town and going to Taco Bell and watching Monday night football.![]()
Here is a photo of Alex and I "cheesing it up" on a Bernina. In the past, I have made fun of Alex's "promo" photo of her and her Bernina which is used in advertisements around the world...and whenever I get a chance...I ask Alex to allow me to join in. I love my Bernina, so if by chance Bernina is looking for another "spokeswoman"...I hope they let me know, afterall I have had my fifteen minutes of fame on an "online television" show!![]()
Thanks for listening to me babble!
(Photos thanks to Gregory and Bernina!)
