I love Applique!

My favorite kind is old fashioned needle turn, which requires no freezer paper. Just a drawn line and a scant 1/4 inch turning allowance, to be turned under by the needle as I sew.

I would love to win Kay's book - I have been following her "journey to a book" posts on her blog.

I love applique! Vary rarely will I make a pieced quilt but I will applique' every thing I can reach. I love the A word.

This is my year to get better at applique. I love the soothing handwork!

Would love to have that book! it looks awesome. I need more applique practice.

I would be new to the "a" word. I can applique onto clothing using a satin stitch but the whole quilting applique thingy is all new to me since I just started quilting.

Appliqué is definitely my favorite kind of quilt making. I love traditional needle turn but have recently been exploring different methods and like them too. It's all good! Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Kay's book.

I do all of my "A" word by machine. I love using fusible and blanket stitch using matching or contrasting thread....

I am can't wait to see this book, I am a beginning quilter and intrigued by applique, this looks like a great intro to it and I love the pictures on the cover!

I've been enjoying the pictures from Kay's books on the blog-around. This type of project has been on my to-do list for some time now!

I've never appliqued...to be honest, I'm scared to try! Although beautiful it always looks so difficult and time intensive. If this book has EASY applique techniques, I'm ALL over it!

I am new to applique, so quick and easy would be great! Thanks so much for a chance!

I really love applique. I've recently been appliqueing t-shirts for my 4 year old daughter. She just loves them. thanks!

Since I've never done much applique, this book might be just right for me. Put my name in the hat. Kathie

I love the look of applique. Well the 'A' word can be intimidating. I often take the easy way out and use fusible and the stitch by machine. I would love to be better at applique!

This book looks like it would help take the "A"nxiety out of "A"pplique. I'm just itching to make those cute hens on the Front.

Applique is wonderful! My first quilt projects were applique and I continue to do more applique than anything else. Long live applique!

I love applique quilts... but haven't had the chance to delve into this part of quilting! Would love to find a method that I could take with me to various kid activities...in no time I'd have a completed project. Must get this book!

Gina you are so cute! I personally love the "A" word because it requires less math and angles for my sewing. So that book is soooooooooo great, especially in all the different sizes...great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us! How is the cruise coming? See you at market?

I have been trying all sorts of different methods of applique trying to find a favorite. Easy sounds good to me! I will definitely be checking out this book.

I am trying to learn the "A" word, I know this book would be a great help. Thanks for the chance!

I am always wanting to do applilque but it seems pretty daunting. These designs are gorgeous, and I would love to learn how to make it easy!

I love applique and Kay's book looks like it has a lot of fun patterns and projects. I would love to win it. Thank you. Take care and God bless, Cory

Applique adds so much to most projects that I almost want to add some to everything. It would be great to have all of these designs in different sizes to inspire that applique.

I have always loved applique but have been afraid to try the traditional method. I will some day though.

I love Applique, especially needle turn. I feel like a groupy I have been following this book launch all over the continent. I hope i win I would LOVE to have it.

I just learned how to applique, so anything easy would be good for me!! Thanks for the giveaway1

The 'A' word is becoming more common in my quilts. I'm a 'piecer' at heart but really love the 2 together - patch blocks with applique blocks. I really like pieced centers with applique in the border. Not something I've attempted yet though. Kay's book with CD looks great. Thanks for the chance!

I learned to applique many many years ago and this is the style that makes me happy and comfortable. In the 90's the applique became so intricate, tiny and well, just plain difficult that the projects though everyone wanted to do them, just rarely did actually accomplish them. This Easy applique is what every quilter can use and make in a reasonable amount of time with successful results.

The "A" word means lots of freedom to create a design that is just mine. My head swims when I think of all the possibilities flowing from Kay's book. I look forward to experimenting.

This applique looks like fun! Thanks for sharing :)

I really love applique. I usually do machine applique, but would like to learn some other methods. I see that Kay has included instructions for methods I haven't tried yet. Large simple designs and lots to choose from, gosh I hope I win!

Thanks for the opportunity to win. Applique has been on my radar for awhile and perhaps I can try it soon.

I really thought that applique was too hard and not for me until...i broke my leg and couldn't get away from my appliqueing friend. Since then it requires this ADD adult to sit and be patient and as i do this I get better and better! I would love to win this!

Hi,Kay! I love applique. I haven't used this book, but I would love to. I love designing quilts and finding great applique designs to go with them.

I have been very interested in this book . . . it's on my Amazon wishlist. I like to combine pieced blocks and appliqué and see a lot of non-complex but very nice examples in this one. I'd love to win a copy. Thanks for the chance.

Applique is my passion and I find it very relaxing and the finished product is beautiful. So many people are afraid of the "A" word but it is really doable by anyone. There are many ways to do applique but my favorite is needleturn.

What do I think about the A word? My name starts with an A, I love Apples, it is April and my husband was born on the 1st. . . Seriously, I love applique. Be it machine or backbasting or needle turn or with freezer paper on the front or the back. . . I'll take it anyway that it comes!

Love doing the A word. I enjoy doing needle turn applique, especially curled up while watching old movies on TV with my DH. This book interests me in the idea of the CD and having different sizes of the same block. What a fun concept to include with the book.

I would love to win as I don't have much experience with applique and want to learn more. Thanks!

I love the A word. I have just started to do applique and I can't get enough of it. I am very excited that there is a new applique book that beginners can use. It seems that they are hard to find. I would love to win the book.

The applique word is a positive word for me. I love needleturn applique. It is my passion. Would love to win the new book. It would be a great book for teaching beginners which I am involved in at our local store. I would have the book on hand and have that book as a requirement for the class.

I would love to win this new book. I am always looking for cute things to applique on clothing for grandchildren as well as quilts.

(somehow my comments were posted under name above me - which had no comments - don't know how that happened

I enjoy applique and wish I had more time to devote to it. The most time consuming part is doing the prep work; doing the stitching is the fun part for me.

I love applique' ...love looking at other people's gorgeous projects...and I'm finally getting a little better due to using some simple shapes to practice on...so this book is the perfect idea!

I love Applique and am just learning how to do it, if it can be easier and I can learn how from a book, I am in!

I love to applique. I try and use all different methods depending on the size of the pieces.

I love handwork, so love applique. A new book would be fabulous. Your ideas look wonderfulwith color pictures and all.

I have not really tried applique and I'd like to spend some time learning how to machine applique. This book looks like a good start........

I used to think that applique was too difficult. I've learned a couple of techniques that make it do-able.

I have just now started to learn how to applique and this book would be the perfect tool to get someone like me started out. Thanks for entering me in the giveaway.

Hello everyone! I want to send out a huge thank-you for all of your wonderful words about my book and my designs.

Kay

I'm a recent A convert and I can't get enough of it. This book is on my to get list.

I have only done needle turn applique but I would love to learn some other techniques. This book looks like a great way to learn.

Sue Cahill (sbonetsue at yahoo dot com)

I am still new to Applique, but I have a huge desire to do it and do it a lot after getting my craft down for quilting in general. My grandmother did a Sunbonnet Sue for me and It's embedded a passion to do at least one or more of them myself! I have done some applique. My favorite being a church logo on a wall hanging. they loved it and I did too. I have researched almost all techniques and have bookmarked many sites with free patterns and thought of ways to make up my own. I probbaly should take a class if I ever could. Thanks for the opportunity to win this!!

I like that this book has a CD for printing out the patterns in different sizes!

Everytime I've tried needle turn applique.........it ends up looking like warts on the fabric......give me fusable and blanket stitch anyday.

I am having fun reading this Book-A-Round. I bought the Teapots 2 book yesterday. Hope I win the Easy Applique today!

Teresa / IL

I book looks wonderful. I heard Kay talk about the new book on Annie Smiths podcast and loved it instantly. I would love to will a copy. Easy Applique looks beautiful.

I had always been afraid of the "A" word, but once I tried it, I was hooked. I think everyone should at least try it once...it is nice to have a great source for beautiful designs! I would love to win a copy!

I am an applique-aholic! Just can't get enough of it. I would love to win this book. It will be in my library of applique books and patterns one way or another. I will be starting a new applique quilt today for a friend's birthday and need that dog to put in place of the cat that my pattern has. Gotta have it!

I probably won't win this cause whoever draws out this out will pitch this comment. I will say I have not read the book involved so it might NOT apply. But the word EASY makes me think I wont be buying it because it will be a rehash of other patterns.

I enjoy applique but I am very tired of the SAME OLD patterns that get put out... nothing interesting ... nothing a different. With all the beautiful art work there is in the world we get presented with the same patterns that are just slightly tweaked enough to avoid copy-right infringement.

I do not draw exceptionally well, but if I can draft the pattern I want I will be danged if I will pay for more of the same.

I have done Baltimore when I learned appliquer. I am not overly fond novelty or folk art style but they usually are good for kid quilts or as a gift. They do not suit my style or home decor. I think I have every book previously printed dealing with those styles. I am looking for fresh and interesting... can be ethnic, classical. As long as it has not be previously published.

The A word! Would love to learn an easy method!

I am a newbie to applique - but have found a technique that is finally working for me - using freezer paper - and would love to have "simple" patterns for applique. Thank you.

I have found that I really really like to applique... especially using something like a steam-a-seam product to help me place the applique. I haven't done the hand turned applique yet and want to do so. I especially love the idea of a CD, so I can print out the applique!!Great idea! I'd love to win the A book w CD for sure!!! Thanks for doing all that you do! Joani B.

I'm a little afraid of the 'A'word! I've done fusible applique, but I'd love to learn how to do it properly, using the needle-turn technique. People that do it well have such crisp, clean results. Could it really be EASY? I'd love to try your book, Kay, and find out!

I have quite a few of my quilters that do applique and I have grown to love it.. and trying to do more of my own.... but with just a little time.. fast and easy is always a good thing!

What a cool collection of applique designs! How much fun to learn this technique while producing cool blocks!

Wonderful applique...finally easy applique!!

this book is right up my alley. I think I would do these blocks with fusible web and machine applique.

I would like to learn applique!

I have done the heat and bond applique but would love to try the kind of applique you would do on a quilt or wall hanging.

I usually piece quilts, but I have done a bit of applique. I'd love to do some EASY applique projects! Thanks to Kay for doing this book and for giving one away!

You KNOW how I feel about appleek as Stephanie says! How can you not want to give it a go?

I took an applique class many eons ago that taught 9 different techniques, all with heart motifs. I realllllly hated it. No method felt "right". Then a friend showed me her needle turn technique, and I realized I could do that!! Now I love it heaps and gobs - great portable project using needle turn, or great quickie project with fusible web.

Looks like a good book for basic shapes!
Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

I love hand sewing so I'm thinking I'd like to do some applique and this book is intriguing

I have recently been wanting to do this! Count me in for the giveaway. I would love to do this and love that this book is suppose to be easy because I haven't done applique yet.I have been reading a little bit about it online, but still would love a book to show me and give me patterns.

I am just learning to applique and would absolutely LOVE to have this book.It is full of easy patterns and that would be so helpful in keeping me from getting frustated in learning, I believe. And they are adorable patterns too!

Applique has always scared me but of late I have attempted some with a good degree of success. These designs look right up my alley!

There are two things I cannot get enough of ... applique and reading books about applique. So this is pretty much meant for me.

I love Applique Work. I think the folks who say they are afraid of the "A" word just have not given it a try or had the support to see what all is possible.

I Would love to have that book! it looks like a great book. I do need some more applique practice.

Love your blog! I'm currently working on finishing a quilt that my grandmother started many years ago. The blocks she did will be divided between my sister (for a lapquilt) and my daughters. That way they each have a special keepsake from her,

I love to do applique. I like to needle turn and find it very relaxing to do at night.

Debbie

Dying to know the winner.

I've never tried applique (I'm scared too!) but I'd love to have an applique book with "easy" in the title. I think that'd make it less intimidating...

I love applique ! What cute patterns ! I would sure like to win this book . Ann

That cat is the nicest I've ever seen in applique. It looks like a real cat. All of the designs are absolutely gorgeous, but the cat is my favourite.

I have this book! I picked it up last year for my 12 year old daughter. We haven't gotten around to it yet, but it should be fun.

I just wanted to let you know there is a brand new online magazine that is FREE for quilters. 250+pages, largest in the industry with mega stars writing in it. Thought you'd like to know!
